Free Webflow Template Submission Checklist (Notion)
Submission Requirements
Before submitting, your template must meet all of Webflow's quality criteria, scoring at least "Good" on every aspect of the quality rubric. The Webflow Marketplace team will evaluate your submission against these standards, and templates that fall short may require revisions, with a maximum of two rounds of feedback allowed.
Required Practices
- Style Guide: Include a "Style Guide" page that styles all essential tags like headings, paragraphs, links, lists, buttons, etc.
- Instructions: If your template includes advanced interactions, provide an "Instructions" page to guide users.
- Changelog: Track all updates in a "Changelog" page, with a

tag in the head code to prevent indexing.
Layout and Design
- Consistency: Ensure consistent spacing and avoid crammed layouts.
- Testing: Check all links, components, and interactions across devices to ensure there are no design or layout bugs.
Interactions
- No Preloaders: Avoid using preloaders, particularly with interactions.
- Quality: Ensure all interactions meet at least "Good" criteria according to the quality rubric.
Use of Fluid Units
- Responsive Design: Make sure layouts are responsive across all viewports, optimizing specifically for mobile devices.
- Consistent Units: Prefer REM units for typography and maintain consistent units in similar scenarios.
CMS and Ecommerce
- Collection Matching: Ensure CMS collections and fields match the content typical for the template's category.
- Conditional Visibility: Implement conditional visibility based on the existence of CMS field values.
- Complete Ecommerce: Ecommerce pages should be free of preloaders and include all necessary shopping elements.
Content and Conversion
- Aligned Content: Ensure content and layout align with the template’s primary tag.
- CTAs: Implement conversion-centered design practices with visible and strategically placed call-to-action buttons.
Tagging and Categorization
- Appropriate Tags: Choose a primary tag and category that best fit your template, and add secondary tags if necessary.
Updates and Notifications
- Changelog Usage: Track all updates in the changelog, and notify the marketplace team of any significant design changes.
Accessibility and Performance
- Accessibility Guidelines: Adhere to accessibility guidelines to ensure usability for all users.
- Performance Optimization: Test and optimize your template for fast loading times.
Naming and Branding
- Unique Name: Choose a unique name for your template that doesn't duplicate existing marketplace names.
Rich Text
- Rich Text Styling: Ensure all text within Rich Text elements is styled correctly, and maintain consistent spacing within these elements.
Typography - Legibility, Spelling, and Grammar
- Correct Text: Ensure proper spelling, grammar, and legibility, with sufficient contrast between background and font colors.
SEO
- Single H1: Use a single H1 heading element per page, except when nested within section or article tags.
- SEO Alignment: Match SEO settings with the template name on the home page.
Responsive Behavior
- Fluid Layouts: Ensure layouts are fluid and responsive across different screen sizes and devices.
Webflow Usability
- Interactivity: Provide hover states for all clickable elements, and ensure links and buttons are functional.
Forms
- Form Settings: Set correct input field settings, customize success messages, and ensure legibility and usability of forms.
Components and Naming Conventions
- Consistent Naming: Use descriptive class names with consistent casing and avoid autogenerated names.
Transitions
- Specific Transitions: Apply transitions to specific properties rather than "All" to maintain consistency.
Images and Licenses
- Licensed Assets: Verify all images and icons are licensed for resale, and optimize for retina devices where possible.
Site Settings and Accessibility
- Favicon and Webclip: Include custom favicon and webclip that align with the template's theme.
- Accessibility Compliance: Follow Webflow’s accessibility guidelines to ensure content is logical and accessible.
